Back and sciatic pain during period

I'm in the middle of my cycle with really bad back pain which is radiating down my legs. At the beginning of my cycle I was feeling a bit stiff, day 3 bent down to pull on my shoes and my back completely went. The pain since has been awful.

In my mind it is related to my periods as similar has happened before. I have a history of endometriosis and fibroids and suspect I am perimenopausal so I do tend to blame most things on my period.

My husband thinks I have probably just got a bad back and have trapped a nerve.

Does anyone have experience of similar where there has been a niggling pain during their period but a small action has definitely triggered more severe pain?

Hi Quitecontrary, I’ve recently experienced how you describe it; sudden onset of severe back pain where I can’t straighten up, during my period. Did you get any help?
