No period for 3 months

Don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I don't know what else to do. I haven't had a period in 3 months and I'm not pregnant. I went to the doctor twice and he said its just stress, but there's nothing I'm stressed about? I've been exhausted recently and I'm terrified it could be something more. What should I do?

Perimenopsuse? Ring your GP.

Sunspill · 21/05/2021 18:56

Sorry I meant another GP who might investigate! Could it be PCOS?

CherieBabySpliffUp · 21/05/2021 18:58

How old are you OP? I would ask for a second opinion.
Stress and "it's a virus" seem to be the catch all for most things according to GPs in my experience.

Heatherroo · 21/05/2021 19:05

@sunspill That could be a possibility! I think I'm going to have to see another doctor.

What age are you?

Heatherroo · 21/05/2021 19:07

@cherieBabySpliffUp I'm only 25 years old with 2 kids. My GP is crap it seems. :(

@Notaroadrunner I'm 25 years old

Not old enough for menopause so - unless there's a history of early menopause in the family. Have you lost a lot of weight recently as that can cause them to stop. How old is your youngest? If very young your body may still be adjusting after the birth.

Heatherroo · 21/05/2021 19:14

@Notaroadrunner my weight hasn't changed at all in the past year. My youngest is 1 and a half. My periods have always been on time since I was a teenager so I'm concerned.

T yr his happened to me at the same age. They just came back 😊

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 22/05/2021 13:17

It also happened to me about that age, I just slipped 3 or 4 months. I was heading for burn out in work at the time and was exhausted which is the only reason I can come up with. They came back normally and it never happened again.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 22/05/2021 13:55

See another GP within the practice. Stress does not cause such problems to arise, physical problems do. You’ve been fobbed off to date.

Your thyroid levels should be checked out properly bearing in mind you wrote you feel exhausted as well.

Skyliner001 · 23/05/2021 09:22

Stress does cause these problems

Heatherroo · 25/05/2021 14:35

UPDATE just been back at the doctors today and I've had blood tests done. Hopefully I'll find out soon whats wrong. Thanks everyone. :)

Hey @heatherroo how did you get on, did you get any answers? I'm in exactly the same position and I'm same age as you. Periods stopped for 3 months and doctors say it's stress but I'm certain it's not. I've gone privately now and they suspect PCOS. I hope you are well and get some answers.

Mine stopped for 3 months I am on the coil but it was after my first dose of the az vaccine
