I’m too scared to have breast reduction surgery. But I really want to.

I’m a 30 jj/k. I’m 24, size 12, I have one DD. I’m just absolutely embarrassed.

At my age, all the trends are crop top, stroppy, backless, side boob showing tops. I cant wear what I want to wear because it literally doesn’t fit or look absolutely awful on me.

I hate them, and it makes me hate myself. I’ve looked into the surgery but I am absolutely terrified of being out to sleep, going under the knife and complications.

I had a c section with my daughter and the recovery was so sore, I can’t image that on my breasts, it almost makes me feel sick.

What do I do? I can’t see myself ever being happy without surgery.

I held out until I was 30. If I could, I'd go back and do it at 16 or 17, I was also huge, 36L. Having a reduction was life changing, I have not one single regret, it was an escape. I chose a major reduction so the more radical surgery and longer term recovery, it was uncomfortable for the first week or two (mostly sleeping on my back) but not painful. I had plenty of pain medication, it was all well managed. I went private and through BMI hospitals, they will do consultations and you know too that you'll have a good anaesthestist. They are the best people to talk to about all your concerns around the anaesthetic and pain management. You don't have to sign up to anything at all, I found them great with questions, and I interviewed several places over several years in the process of making up my mind. It's really worth talking to them and getting some answers you can think about to make your decision.

Wanted to add too, c section cuts muscles it is horrendously sore, I am sorry you had to go through that and I'm sure it's left horrible memories. Breast surgery doesn't involve cutting any muscles, its just skin healing. I've had several surgeries and this really was the least painful, it was uncomfortable (and a nuisance not lifting my arms/lifting things for the couple of weeks it took). Do ask anything you'd like to about it.
