Cystitis - GP not prescribing

Hi all,

I'm no stranger to cystitis, and I'm having symptoms at the moment.

I've got urine sticks at home which show high leukocyte levels.

GP won't prescribe anything - wants to send sample to the lab, meanwhile I'm in agony.

Sample will take 48 hours from now to come back, at least. Cystopurin is taking the edge off things but only temporarily.

Please give me your other remedies!!

If you’re feeling that unwell ring 111 and they will fax a prescription for antibiotics to your nearest pharmacy. You can also order antibiotics online via superdrug online pharmacy services.

Teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in water. Not baking powder.

Get a drink ready for immediately after you’ve swallowed it and drink a bit before you take a breath. This is because it tastes like soap!

This works by changing the ph of your urine so the bacteria can’t survive.

In the meantime avoid acidic drinks like fruit juice or fizzy drinks.
