Hello,
I have a suspicion that I am starting the menopause. I have a long long list of symptoms that may or may not be related. It may be something else, might be getting old. I am going to list them here, in the hope that it may ring bells with someone and let me know I am not going mad. I am 40, have pcos, and about 6 stone overweight if it helps.
Don't sleep well.
On ADS ( never have before).
Ache all over a lot with small pains, like someone is gently putting pressure on my skin with their fingers, neck, shoulders, legs, anywhere really, no pattern.
Had tingling skin at the end of my nose a few weeks back though it has stopped now.
Putting on even more weight than usual.
Periods went through an extremely heavy phase a couple if years ago, had a hysteroscopy and told I have lots of oestrogen. In the last 6 months, they have become very regular and very light ( never happened before).
Get irrationally annoyed at the moment. Everyone winds me up! I know I am being irrational, but can't help it.
Feel down, sometimes tearful.
Not interested in doing anything.
No energy.

My mum went through the menopause early, about my age.

Does it sounds like perimenopause? Can blood test pick this up? I'm so fed up of feeling like this!

I believe a blood test can pick it up, I was checked for it a couple of years ago when I had very heavy bleeding (fibroids) and extreme sweating (that turned out to be a side effect of medication!). I still suspect I'm heading towards menopause though, I am also getting annoyed with everything / everybody and my energy levels have plummeted. I sleep well though - I can do 8-9 hours a night no problem.
