Hi. Just wondering if any of you have bought effective BV treatment from a pharmacy?

I'm taking antibiotics and am having side effects. I was wondering if there was any cream or gel that might help?

At the same time I've had BV for some time and really want to get rid of it. Thanks

Are you on metronidazole? If you’ve tried that then
Multi gyn acti gel from boots worked for me

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am. I have four more days to take the tablets. I was OK this morning and then felt unwell. I think my neighbours could hear my stomach rumbling Smile

I think I might try taking the tablets in the evening - after dinner and before bed with a snack. If I still feel crap on Sunday I will look into getting the gel.

I’ve never had issues with those antibiotics, but they absolutely work! Id say stick with them for it being a short course.
That gel is a god send to have in. It takes away any itches or redness or BV smells etc. Re sets your PH so handy to use after sex etc to prevent Bv aswell

Thanks for the advice!

Taking the antibiotics in the evening might do the trick. I generally feel
OK in the mornings then when I take the tablet at lunchtime I get all sorts of side effects. Headache, generally feeling unwell, upset stomach.

I don’t know if I ever officially had this or not, but once I tried pessaries and wouldn’t recommend them. My god, they hurt and stung.

I couldn’t get past day 3 as my body just noped out of it, I just couldn’t get them in.

They must be very different from the thrush pessaries then. Oh the things women go through Hmm
