Has anyone taken norethisterone before? I’ve taken it to delay my period but I still feel like I will get my period. I’m experiencing stomach pains and (tmi) but feel heavy down there as if my period will begin. Has anyone had similar symptoms before? And has anyone taken it to delay period but still got their periods. Thanks in advance

Yes. Took it last month. It delays your period for around 3 days after you stop taking it. I took it to delay period until my surgery was completed. It arrived 3 days after. I had cramping, etc when taking the tablets.

Yes and experience similar to you. Felt very bloated and like my period was going to start any minute but it didn’t until I stopped taking it.

As long as you take it, you will not have your period. It will keep your progesterone levels high and prevent the shedding of the linen of uterus which only occurs when progesterone levels are low.

Some women do not tolerate well high levels of progesterone and norethisterone doesn't block ovulation in many.

I used to take it for 6 months straight , I was in the young national swimming team ( which sounds very fancy except it was Monaco and there anyone which wasn't too bad in the pool ended up in the national team) and our coach would put all females on norethisterone for the spring/summer 6 month competing season. It was the 80s, the crazy stuff coaches would do .... and during those 6 months, no period ever.

It worked well for me. Took it while I was on holiday recently and my period started 2 days after I stopped the pills. I’ve also just started taking transexamic acid for heavy periods and low iron as well so even when my period came it was much lighter than usual.

I've taken this over the last 10 days as I was getting married and my peri menopause periods can be super heavy and irregular. I think the leaflet said the period starts about 3 days after you stop taking it.

It worked for me, although I have felt a bit dizzy and bloated. I ordered it online, as I couldn't get a docs appointment, it was really easy.

yes, it delays the period ok, but still feel massively premenstrual the entire time
