Endometrial ablation and sterilisation

Has anyone had both done at the same time?

I have had ongoing issues for years and am finally on the list for surgery (hopefully in the next 10 weeks). I suffer with heavy prolonged periods and was told endometrial ablation would likely be successful, I was told that after having it I would still need to use contraception because getting pregnant would likely end in miscarriage or an ectopic. I have been on the pill for years and I feel that has caused my issues, they also give me migraines so I asked about sterilisation. I am now booked to have sterilisation with the ablation.

Just wanted to hear stories (good or bad) from people that have had either or both surgeries, how did you find the procedure? How long was recovery time? And was it successful?

My experience is that I bleed non stop for months. Medication has left affected my hearing due to a condition I have and now I'm nearly deaf, I wear aids now. The reversal wasn't too long as gp pushed me under the urgent 2 week rule as they suspected cancer at that time. No cause or diagnosis given. I had a pipette biopsy snd scan and all seemed normal. I ended up on A&E as I couldn't stop fainting.

They said will investigate at the same time but it's just a waiting game. I fought for sterilisation before and was refused but they agreed this time so I'm definitely doing that too.

I have my pre op assessment tomorrow but still no surgery date, hoping it will be soon, chances are it will land on half term as I have booked a few days away 😬.
