Postpartum - red burning face

Hey. I've been researching to my wit's end and my GP is currently less than helpful so I thought I'd ask around on here.

I'm three months postpartum and my skin is so unbelievably dry and I cannot seem to hydrate it. All of a sudden, my face seems to go really red and burn up (look like a toddler has applied my blusher) and then after a while it just stops. Doc seems to think I could have rosacea but it's not there perm, cheeks aren't red all the time. Given me a cream but does very little...

I'm baffled on triggers, except red wine seems to do it. Otherwise it just randomly happens. Again weird as I've always drank red wine and I even drank it for a month after baby before this started.

It's making me miserable because anything I apply just burns and itches and it's just so sensitive.

Could this be hormonal? Or is this my life now? I'd have thought hormones might have chilled out by now.

Thanks

Hey!
I’m curious to know if you ever found out what this I was or if you found a cure?
I’m currently 9 weeks postpartum and having the same problem! My face feels so burnt and itchy all the time!

Heya. To be honest I never found a cure. The GP prescribed all sorts and nothing worked. However, eventually it just seem to go away! My little girl is 2 now (and I'm 8 months pregnant with another!) And I've not had it for ages. Although I half expect it to happen after I give birth this time too! Fingers crossed like mine, yours just calms down after a while too!

This is exactly my face, I'm currently pregnant and it came on when I was about 2 months, 7 months now and it just comes on randomly.
My face also gets itchy and then spots appear.
