Contraceptive pill

Not sure if this is right place for this, apologies if it’s not.

Anyone currently taking or has taken cerazette contraceptive pill in the past?

Is it normal to bleed for over 3 weeks? I’m 8 weeks postpartum so this may have an affect as well as this is my first period since baby, I’ve been taking this pill for 30 days.

The first week was very heavy which I expected but for the past 2 weeks it’s very light(only needing a liner)

Hi, Yes with Cerazette bleeding can be all over the place for a good few months. Mine was constant last year so I spoke to the GP who told me to double my dose until it stopped. That worked, as I was so fed up with the constant bleeding. I had some irregular bleeds over the next few months but I've not had any at all now since about December.

@CornishGem1975 you bled constantly for a year? Might ask if I can go on the pill I was on before baby

Are you breastfeeding?
Combined pills can affect milk supply so be aware of that if you decide to take it
Cerazette stopped my periods completely after the first bleed so it suited me fine

@@dementedpixie nope I’m not breastfeeding, doctors said I couldn’t go on the pill I was on before(microgynon) as it’s combined and can mess with my hormones as they were already high after having baby, I’m hoping I’ll stop bleeding soon and see how I get on, if it carries on for any longer than 4 weeks I’ll mention it to them

Eh?
If not breastfeeding then you can restart the combined pill 3 weeks after birth unless you have risk factors that contraindicate the combined pill (high blood pressure, obesity, etc)

No I didn't bleed for the whole year. Started taking it in March, would have two weeks without bleeding and then maybe 3-4 weeks of continuous bleeding. Was stuck in a cycle. It calmed down after about 6 months, went more like a normal period but now I've had nothing in months which is usual for me on Cerazette. When I took it pre-pregnancy I never had periods, ever.

I've just started taking it to try and help with heavy bleeding. Been on it for about 3 weeks and have came on my period a couple of days ago. It's lighter than before (yay!) but I'm hoping it doesn't go on much longer!! I'm really hoping it stops it completely.
