BV treatment

I'm pretty sure I have BV. Haven't had it in a while but it's come back again. Have just been to the shops and bought the canesbalance gel. It says on the box to use it at night, but do I have to wait that long or can I use it this afternoon? Feeling uncomfortable and smelly and just want to start treatment but wondering if there is a reason it says to use at night?

You've got gravity on your side at night, it will work best given the optimum circumstances, so more likely to work if given the chance not to slip out as you'll be horizontal at night not vertical.
