Never feel fresh down below

Help please!

I never seem to feel fresh down below. I am fully shaven and wash daily. Feel clean after washing in bath or shower then again a while later feel unfresh and feel I smell unpleasant. Have tried treatment over years for bv but still don't feel I smell clean.

Any tips? Does anyone else feel like this?

I'm sure others will be along soon to help but have you tried not shaving fully? I believe from reading that the hair is there to help with cleaning?

ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn · 06/04/2021 22:39

Stop shaving. The hair is there for a reason.

Noirdesir · 06/04/2021 22:41

Apivita intimate cleansing gel- it’s amazing.
Check Amazon reviews- only thing that makes me feel truly clean all day.
Also you might want to check out oral probiotics for that area too- helps keep everything in balance

Northernsoullover · 06/04/2021 22:42

Its probably caused by shaving. Stop it.

Youaremysunshine09 · 06/04/2021 22:43

Thanks everyone. I feel when I don't shave I smell/feel worse so thought shaving was the best, will try not shaving and see how I get on.

Deffo stop shaving when I’ve shaved in the past that’s when I have the most issues with not smelling right

With hair it’s all so much better - natural

Jobsharenightmare · 06/04/2021 22:44

I stopped shaving and it totally improved and have no issues now.

BurbageBrook · 06/04/2021 22:45

Shaving definitely doesn’t make me smell bad. Do you mean your actual vagina smells bad or your skin? Unpleasant smell from vagina could definitely be BV - sometimes doesn’t cause a fishy smell just an ‘off’ smell. Try probiotics or the balance active pessaries. I used to get mild BV after every period and now I always pop in a Balance active pessary after each one and I smell fab all month! Blush

Noirdesir · 06/04/2021 22:47

It has nothing to do with shaving. I know women who never shave and still have this problem

Woodlandbelle · 06/04/2021 22:48

The Balance Active is very good too.

BurbageBrook · 06/04/2021 22:48

By the way the reason I know shaving doesn’t make me smell or not smell is because I go through phases of doing both (having it all off or letting it grow) and it made no difference. I find it unlikely it would be the cause because the skin doesn’t smell does it, it’s the vagina itself? I dunno. I just know for me it was def a recurrent case of BV and the answer was the pessaries - not antibiotics as they just get rid of it temporarily or give you thrush! A vagina whether shaved or not shaved should not smell bad.

MrsBDarcy · 06/04/2021 23:05

Which balance active please? They sound good but just found loads of different ones

JinglingHellsBells · 09/04/2021 08:58

@Youaremysunshine09 Do you think you are maybe being a bit unrealistic about natural body smell? To be really blunt, vulvas and vaginas do have a smell. That's normal. It's only if you have a coloured discharge or itching or soreness that something might need treatment.

Sadly, women are made to feel that their bodies should be completely odourless, by the promotion and marketing of washes etc. These are generally harmful and totally unnecessary. As long as you shower regularly and don't have an infection, that's all that's needed.

@BurbageBrook I hope you are not shaving your vagina! That's the bit inside.
