Spotting 1 week after period - menopause?

I got my period a week ago, got the usual bleeding for 3-4 days, cramps etc and then nothing for a couple of days until yesterday when I got some light cramps and noticed spotting when I went to the bathroom. Again today, I noticed dark, fresh blood in the bowl and light spotting the rest of the day.

Anyone else had this? Is it a menopause thing? I’m 43 so wondering if this might be part of some hormonal changes now that I’m getting older. I used to get breakthrough bleeds like this when I was on birth control but I haven’t taken bc in 10 years (had kids and didn’t want to go back on it).

I'm 42 and had some mid-cycle bleeding for the first time today, so following with interest.

That's interesting, MyDarling. I did read somewhere about early / peri-menopause causing irregular bleeding but I'm not sure if this counts as irregular bleeding or just a random weird period. The only similar experience I can remember is breakthrough bleeding on the pill which is what makes me think it's connected to hormones in some way... who knows!

I’m 51 and I’ve never had it. Any irregular bleeding should be reported to the GP.
