Good morning all
I was due a hysteroscopy a few weeks back but couldn’t have it due to covid. Consultant now decided not to do one, but do a biopsy of my uterus instead. I’m hoping this is the lesser of the two procedures. I am so nervous about it though and so if anyone has had one can you tell me what to expect please. I’m building it up worse in my head, I’m sure I am. Shock

I’ve had a couple, the last one just this week so fresh in my memory. It is pretty uncomfortable and I felt a couple of sharp pains during the procedure itself but honestly it wasn’t too bad. I had it done at the hospital where I work and went straight back to work after. Some people advise taking a couple of paracetamol and/or ibuprofen beforehand but I didn’t bother, just took some with me just in case. I am generally fine with things like smears too though. Remember that everyone is different though and if you can’t tolerate it just tell them to stop and they’ll just have to do the hysteroscopy instead.
