Haywire periods aged 30 - any ideas?

I don’t know what’s going on with my periods. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Used to have a very normal 28 day cycle. A few years ago I went through a very stressful time and my periods went haywire - 14 day cycles, all over the place. After about 6-8 months they started to even out again, but my cycles were shorter. More like 26 days.

if you are squeamish, stop reading here

My periods, over the last 18 months, have been also getting horrendously heavy, with severe clotting. I use a mooncup and in my first couple of heavy days the mooncup is full of what is basically blackcurrant jelly (sorry).

Anyway, my last few cycles I’ve also been having heavy spotting in between periods, which I’ve never had before. WTAF is going on?

I’m scared this is the perimenopause - is this likely aged 30? Or is this stress?

Thanks, any advice very much appreciated.

Pandemic Periods, why women's menstrual cycles have gone haywire

I was actually going to start a thread on this article this evening.

Apparently it's a thing because we are all stressed

Thank you so much @pastabest. I found that article reassuring - thank you for sharing and let’s hope all things get back to normal soon!
