Hi I'm hoping I'm not the only one but has anyone stopped birth control and been worse off? Abit of a back story. Started cerazette when I was 14 due to awful periods was fine but I fell pregnant at 17 with my first son same thing happened with my second son so had mirena fitted. Was ok but I would have bad headaches and cramps. Removed to have 3rd son and then my daughter came along in 2018. I was advised to try the copper coil which was like hell on earth. Worse periods cramps anxiety depression you name it I had it. Removed last year July and went back on cerazette. I fell pregnant on it again in august and had a medical abortion at the end of October. Went back on cerazette (advised by gp) and I just cried the whole 2 weeks I was on it. Stopped taking in December. First bleed was end of jan and since then been every 27-28 and lasting 4-5 days. Not heavy or anything but since this first bleed Iv had awful pms hair falling out spotting for a few mins after sex (waiting for a call back from gp) acne back acne thrush. Considering going back on mirena

It took my a while to settle on the Mirena but it's been great. One thing they suggested at the PMS clinic at the Hospital was taking calcium supplements. That and the Mirena have been the only things that ever worked for me.

I'm hoping to get back on the mirena. Although it wasn't the best it was a million times better than this! I'm a wreck and a massive shadow of who I was
