Bleeding and swelling (smear)

I'm 5 months post partum (C section). I had a routine smear this morning, and before she started I told her that sex had been a bit tender since having my son. She said she'd use the small speculum but it was still fairly painful when she opened it.
She took the smear but then told me that internally I seemed very swollen (?) and that as soon as she touched my cervix it bled a lot.
She then advised that when results come back I should book a GP appt, even if they're negative.
As rational as I'm trying to be, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't feeling bloody unsettled now!
Has anyone had similar, is this normal? She seemed as though it wasn't common which is what has thrown me.

Book the appt now anyway
It took 6 weeks for my last result to come back

I had my smear about 2 months post CS and it was pretty damn painful. The nurse said something about it being low and swollen and advised I "kept an eye on it" Hmm As far as I know all is now fine, but if your nurse is advising a Dr looks at it, I'd be booking an appointment. Probably nothing but nothing to lose in checking.
