BACK TO NORMAL AFTER BIRTH CONTROL?

LADIES-
how long after being off birth control did your periods go back to “normal”? Or your bodies just go back to feeling “regular”.

I’ve been off birth control for about 6 months now, and have had irregular periods. I’ve gained almost 40 pounds within the 3 years I was on birth control , and can’t seem to get rid of the weight. (I exercise regularly and eat healthy, maybe 2-3 meals a day). I’ve been considering asking my OBGYN about PCOS. any advice?

Any time I went off birth control - either the combined pill or mini pill (I've had 5 planned pregnancies) my cycle came back the month after finishing. And I got pregnant each time within 3 months. Just giving you my experience, but each woman is different.

Might be worth going to GP and asking to be referred to gynae. Waiting lists and be long though.

Are you planning on TTC? What age are you?

I was on the pill for 8 years. I decided to come off back in October (21th to be precise)

In 28 and in a long term relationship. Not ready to have a baby just yet.

Decided to come off due to not being able to lose weight. Awful mood swings, constantly hungry and just miserable.

My experience has been great in some aspects.
I’ve dropped over 2 stone in weight, and my periods started back like clockwork. I stopped on the 21st October had a withdrawal bleed and have been having a period every month on the 22nd of each month lasting around 5 days.

The only downside is my sex drive have completely dried up. And belly aches are quite bad!

I’m hoping the sex drive thing is down to body regulating itself and lockdown not being very exciting. Definitely no issues with my relationship just trying to get my drive back.

Iv been on contraception since I was 14 and I'm now 30 with 4 kids. Had a 2 weeks stint with cerazette in November and stopped as all I did was cry and wanted to see what my body was like without the hormones. I'm a mess! Anxiety through the roof. Periods have gone back to 27-28 day cycle. Periods are light aswell. Pms is awful and because Iv had some slight spotting after sex my sex life is none existed until I see a gp. Iv heard some women feel the benefits where as some woman birth control actually helps them. I was told to expect my periods to regulate within 12 cycle x

I was on the combined pill. I stopped taking it at the end of the pack to ttc in July 2014, I had my withdrawal bleed as normal, then a month later I had my first proper period. It was every 4 weeks until I conceived.

Yes I am planning on TTC, well my partner and I have began trying the beginning of this month. I am 23, and I thought my body would go back to normal pretty quickly after stopping birth control back in September. Currently, I am 41 days late, but negative pregnancy tests.
