Norethistrone? Contraception to stop periods?

I just wanted to ask what contraception people use and if it stops periods?

Without going into tmi details I have a few issues recurrent thrush, eczema and genital herpes. Periods make all these issues worse and really affects my mental health. I have the implant at the moment a my first one really reduced periods maybe one every 4-6months.

I thought I was starting my period so stupidly took one norethistrone this morning but I'm pretty sure my period isn't/wasn't starting. I'm worried that by taking this one tablet it's going to kick start my period and currently dealing with a possible outbreak so not what I want at the moment.

Will taking just one norethisterone tablet have any effect? I wasn't thinking and just panicked. Long term I'm thinking of the mini pill to stop my periods at least until I can get everything else under control the herpes is fairly new (diagnosed last year) please advise me.

Mini pill won't necessarily stop them either.
I used cerazette and it stopped mine. Some people get prolonged or irregular bleeding though.

I also had the mirena coil and that stopped them too

I doubt one tablet will make a difference to your period, I take it on holiday to stop my period & have to take 3 a day
