Wrong diagnosis - ovarian cyst

Where to start? Well I guess has anyone had this experience. Went to my local hospital in October and got diagnosed with a 3cm Dermoid ovarian cyst. Using my private medical insurance I get through work I went to see a consultant privately. Had another scan in early feb and the results showed the Dermoid was now 7.8 x 7 cm and considered too large now for keyhole surgery. Also thickening of the uterus lining evident and therefore a hysteroscopy with biopsy was booked for a week last Friday. Due to having covid in January I still tested positive (old covid) and so the procedure was cancelled late on the Thursday afternoon. They called me for another scan today, both ultrasound and virginal. They now think the Dermoid is really small and no thickening of the lining. The large measured size of the Dermoid in February could apparently have been gas around the ovary. Going to do an mri to properly check but having gone from large cyst with quite a big operation to small cyst, possibly gas, I’ve lost a bit of faith! Plus I could have put myself through the procedure 2 Fridays ago for nothing! Don’t know what to think or believe

Just wanted to let you know that I had a 10cm dermoid removed from my right ovary via keyhole back in November, so not sure why they wouldn't remove yours the same way?

Cailleach - really! Thanks for that - once I know for sure what’s happening I will question that then. And were you ok? Hope so :)
