Period started 13 days after last one

I don't have any peri menopausal symptoms as far as I am aware but this is weird.

A week ago, my breasts started to feel extremely sore, like when I’m premenstrual but much worse, thought it would go away, and after a few days then I started my period - 13 days after my last one started.
It’s not the same though, it’s colour and texture is different- darker, browner, dryer (sorry TMI).
It’s also started slow and increased but not to full flow and is lasting longer than my regular menstruation (normal 3 days but this is day 4), all in all not consistent with my usual cycle etc

I could be classed as at the age of being in the peri menopausal stage, yet this is odd.

Is this something to worry about? Should I contact doctor or just ignore it as a blip?

Thank you for any advice.

I’ve had the same this last month. I’m waiting to see what happens this cycle and if it does it again will consult GP.

I am 43 in a few days but still BF (DD 18 months) and she stopped night feeds around the same time so I am wondering if it might be connected.

But I am very aware it could be peri, so I have gone back to tracking cycles.

If it's a one-off, I'd ignore it (especially now I'm late 40s.) 25% of women go through menopause with no symptoms, apart from not having periods any more, so not having had symptoms isn't necessarily an indicator. But I'd keep an eye on things.

Mine are still regular, but they seem to be changing in the amount of flow, and colour, so it could be a shift like that.

Thank you both, appreciate you replying. I think I may leave it and hope it's just a glitch.
