Breast lump and pregnant

Hi I'm looking for some reassurance as I have serious anxiety!

I am 7 weeks pregnant and found a small lump in the fatty bit below my boob when I was doing a self check! I was in so much shock. It's small, can move between my fingers and isn't painful. I have contacted my GP.

But has anyone else had this happen especially in pregnancy and everything be ok
I am worried sick.

Below your boob so not in your boob?
Sounds like a lipoma - benign

standingonaseesaw · 04/03/2021 18:46

Oh my goodness! No reassurance I’m afraid, but I’m also 7 weeks and have found a lump 😞 I’m so hopeful it is just pregnancy changes. Sorry for jumping on your thread, but have a handhold, and fingers crossed for us both.

Fawn68 · 04/03/2021 19:00

@beelzeboob like inside the fatty bit!

@standingonaseesaw I'm so sorry you're also dealing with this! I'm really hoping my gp can reassure me tomorrow, I know I will be sent for an ultrasound still. Where is your lump?

Mine is at the top, feels more on my breastbone than in the breast tissue. I have been a complete chicken and not phoned the Gp yet, I’m saving it for Monday when the DC go back to school.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow! Well done for being brave and booking an appointment, I will be thinking of you. x

Fawn68 · 04/03/2021 19:19

@standingonaseesaw thank you! Hoping it's nothing for us both, please make sure and call your GP x

I absolutely will! It’s just taken me a couple of days to face the fear. Fingers crossed for you. x

Just to update, my Gp examined me this morning and is almost certain it is a Fibroadenoma and said she is not at all concerned. But as it is still a lump she has referred me (not urgently) to the breast clinic for an ultrasound!

I’m so glad to hear that. What a relief for you!! Good that you will still get an ultrasound, but it sounds very positive.

Doireallyneedaname · 05/03/2021 15:11

I found a lump and GP also thought it was a fibroadenoma. Referred to the breast clinic who found nothing at all! They said it must have been hormonal (time of month) - so if periods can do it, I’d bet pregnancy can too.

Fawn68 · 05/03/2021 15:26

@Doireallyneedaname hope mines is the same! Though can definitely feel it and the gp said it just kept slipping from her fingers everytime she tried to feel it. Hoping worse case that's all it is!

@Fawn68 Moveable is a good sign. Try not to worry, it’s likely nothing.

Fawn68 · 08/03/2021 15:36

Got my referral through to the breast clinic on 25th March. So scared now Sad

Has anyone else experienced this whilst pregnant?

@fawn68 I see this post is a couple of months old, and was wondering what happened at the clinic? Hope you are doing well.
I just found a lump and seen the GP, said they think unlikely serious, but have an appointment at the breast clinic

Fawn68 · 04/06/2021 22:06

@Katy4321 very sorry you are going through all of this worry, it was truly an awful time! Are you pregnant also? Thankfully mines was all clear. They couldn't even see a lump and said it was normal breast tissue which must have been changing due to pregnancy!

Hi @fawn68. Thank you for replying, so glad it was OK for you, but sounds like you had a long wait. Hope your pregnancy is going well.
Luckily I have got an appointment quickly, and I know unlikely to be anything serious, but still hard not to be anxious... I'm 17 weeks pregnant and in my 40s so a bit more of a concern.

DinosaurDiana · 05/06/2021 08:18

I did. I think they called it a milk gland and it was fine.

Fawn68 · 05/06/2021 08:32

@Katy4321 it was only a 2 week wait! Hopefully yours is ok it will most likely be pregnancy changes
