Incontinence nurse

Anyone seen incontinence nurse for urine incontinence?
What can you expect from your first appointment? Please help

Yes I have though it was a while ago, they ask what your incontinence is like, stress or urge, about your fluid intake, what your pelvic floor is like, what your births were like if you've had children. Basically just what they need to know to make a plan to help you.

I'm a bit desperate now
I really feel like I need medicine (obviously willing to do anything else they suggest)
And I'm worried they might not give it

Did your gp not offer anything? I've been on Vesicare for years and years.

I haven't discussed medicine with anyone. I rang my GP about this last summer she said the incontinence person (don't know what you call that person) at the hospital wasn't open cos of covid so she'd refer me to the incontinence nurse who comes to the surgery. It's taken this long to get seen!!
And in that time it's got worse (as if it wasn't bad enough before)

If the nurse ferls the like ut would help In sure she would agree to it.
I had a prolapse and got TVT which stopped stress incontinence but made the urge incontinence worse.
I saw a woman's health physio a year or so ago and that helped a lot so you could ask for a referral to one as well.

I work with a lot of women believe me it's very common but you shouldn't have to suffer it, sorting your pelvic floor out helps immensely.
If it's an overactive bladder you will probably be advised to train your bladder, the nurse will explain how to do it.

Assume you have been on the nhs site. It's very comprehensive. I have urge incontinence and have had Botox therapy intermittently for the last 10 years
