Extreme PMS brought on by lockdown? Peri-menopause? Or just lockdown?

This lockdown has been harder for me, as I think it has for a lot of us. But this week has been particularly bad and I've just realised my period is due at the weekend. It's like the slightly unhappy, more irritable thing is just WORSE at the moment. The same thing, I think, was true last month. And it's a full week too, which is annoying.

Anyone else finding this? Is it linked to lockdown? Or is it peri menopause (I'm 45 and have been suspicious that I'm entering peri-menopause for a while)? Any suggestions on what to do!?

I’ve been feeling similarly, my breast pain has been awful this last year, usually around ovulation then again day before actually starting. But seems to just be all the way through now. The mood swings too are awful At the start. I’m41 so did wonder if it’s an age thing. I believe peri menopause can be a very long time.

Hi OP, I'm 47 and have been experiencing awful pmt for the past few years. I put it down to hormones as I had my last baby at 44 and have been permanently knackered and grumpy ever since. My pmt was 14 days out 28. I also had v heavy periods. It's taken me 2 years of pointless GP visits to finally see a private Meno Dr who prescribed me hrt. My mood has improved massively, almost zero pmt.
