Haemorrhoids

Probably a silly question, but I’m getting a hemorrhoidectomy and I’m conscious about how naked I’ll be. Is it just from the waist down? Any females out there that can advise me on what to expect?

Only just logged into mumsnet after months away and saw your comment. Thank you for checking in!

The procedure was successful- the only terrifying thing for me was straight after the anaesthetic was given I felt a burning sensation in my vaginal area. It was extremely painful and I remember mentioning this to the anaesthetist before blacking out. She was an awful unfriendly woman. There was a lot of discomfort after and pain when using the toilet but I found it to be bearable and don’t remember using pain relief at the time. Relied heavily on warm baths to soothe. Recovery was pretty fast. I’m grateful and relieved I went through with the procedure.

@raf19 so glad I’ve just found your old update I’m having a hemmorhoidectomy next month and I’m terrified about all of it
the GA risk although dmall
the Procedure not working and being left in a worse state / incontinent
being naked and exposed face down in front of so many people
the pain whilst looking after 3 small children

@scoobysnaxx yeah had it done very painful and they didn’t remove the external ones so still having the same issues
