Hi I'm having the implant fitted on Wednesday and I am quite scared because I have heard awful things such as psychosis depression hair loss and so many other things, has anyone actually had any good experiences? I know every body is different but I honestly just feel like cancelling the appointment at this point :/

I've had mine nearly 4 years (should've been changed last year but, covid). Had a few weeks of bleeding after it was implanted but no other effects since.
Have put on a little bit of weight but that's more likely caused by cake!

No issues with mine apart from constant bleeding.Considering getting it removed because of it (as soon as covid allows). Had it in for 15 months now.

I had the implant for 6 years. Nexplanon. 2 implants as each one lasted 3 years.

I rarely had any periods during that time, could likely count them on 1 hand.
This was nice as I didn't have to think about them but at the same time it would come out of no where and often I wasn't prepared. I did sometimes question if I was pregnant cos there was no period being missed/late.

I did gain weight but can't say if that was purely down to the implant as I was newly in a relationship and gained weight during that, but I think it made my appetite increase.

I read a lot about migraines but had those for many years before. Can't say if it made them worse or not.

Overall I had a positive experience. They usually recommend you keep it for 3 months and during that time any initial negative side effects should settle. After that time, if it's not working for you, by all means get it removed and try something else! 😊

Good luck x

I loved the implant! Couldn't fault. I've never had any negatives on the implant or the mini pill. With both, I also had no periods!
