Anyone else's periods just stopped?

I haven't had a period in 3 months. Done multiple pregnancy tests all negative.

I've read stress can stop them. I have been a bit stressed but not any more than usual. Obviously the missed periods are stressing me now.

Anyone else had this and had an explanation?

Yes, when I was 42 I become peri menopausal. Really confused me. Did pregnancy tests and even sent my dh for the snip!
Took me a year to realise it was my hormones.

Hazelmazel · 18/02/2021 08:21

Yes, early meno for me. When I turned 42 I just suddenly didn't have a period for about 8 months then they were sporadic (about every 3-4 months) for several years. Haven't made it to the end point yet, they just show up randomly a couple of times a year.
How old are you?
Stress and weight can also affect periods too- are you very light?

kowari · 18/02/2021 08:21

Are you underweight, have low body fat or exercise a lot?

PinkDaffodil2 · 18/02/2021 08:23

I’d pop to your GP, they could do some bloods to investigate and also they might give you some medication to encourage a bleed at the 3 month mark, depending on what they think the cause might be.

Thought that I had replied to this, I have lost my period for periods of between one Months and three months in the past, always lined up with times of great stress. The first time happened when I was 26, and then it happened again mid 30s, and it's Currently happening again now at 39

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/02/2021 08:08

I missed one period in my twenties when I went to a retreat and lived on some hideous gruel for weeks. Have you changed your eating patterns?

icecreamSooda · 19/02/2021 12:30

Thank you all for replying.
My diet hasn't changed at all.
I'm guessing it may be the stress since the school closures and work stress etc.
I have a GP appointment for next Thursday.

It would be interesting to see how you get on, if you wouldn't mind feeding back, I'm sure it would be of interest to other people who are going through the same thing. 😊
