It’s still unlikely to be cancer, most cases are not cancer.

They will be called for a colposcopy where some lovely caring nurses use a speculum, camera and dye to look at the cervix properly.

They will be referred for a colposcopy and a biopsy will be taken; this will tell them if there is pre cancerous cells or cancer there.

From there depends on the level of cells - but a LLETZ is a usual treatment

It does not mean this is cancer.
It could indicate pre cancerous cells - CIN 1, 2, 3

I had this. Had a colposcopy that showed (I cannot remember the terminology but) the least bad thing they can find after an abnormal smear, and then a couple of years of more regular smears (yearly I think) and they were all fine.

I’ve literally just had the same had a colonoscopy within a month after my smear as high grade changes . They came back ok but as such a difference I have to have case referred

They have been great really quick and helpful it’s very rare to be cancer
