Ultrasound Anxiety

I've seen so many lovely and helpful messages on these forums, and thought I would try and offload a little bit here if that's okay. A couple of weeks ago I went to my GP as I was experiencing increased need to urinate, they booked me in for urine and blood tests (they came back clear) and an ultrasound was scheduled in a week later. I get horrendously painful periods so much that I am unable to function on the first day, I never thought they were particularly irregular but my tracking on my period tracker app says they are irregular for my age group. I get pelvic pain and bloating sometimes but can't say this is constant. There is some lower back pain. I still very much have my appetite.

The transabdominal ultrasound was relatively short, but he focused quite a bit on my left side (didn't ask me to lie on the other side) and he called the other lady in the room over to the screen but I didn't really understand what they were saying, just language like you hear at the dentist! At the end he specifically asked if I had painful periods and if they were regular, he then said results will be with GP in 7-10 days and that was that. There was no transvaginal ultrasound. That was three days ago, and feeling a bit anxious getting worked up about OC which I know is common for people to do! Are more serious results expedited?

Hello! I had similar symptoms last year and went for a scan. I was given both a scan of my pelvic area and a TVU. I got my results a week later and it turned out I had a small ovarian cyst (which they said was not of any great concern). Try not to worry - I think that if they suspected anything serious they would get back to you fairly quickly. X
