Has anyone's coil displaced after years?

I've had a copper coil in for 3.5 years now, I've had no problems with it during this time.

My last period was normal apart from an episode of horrendous pain, much worse than usual. It didn't last long and then my period finished a week ago.

In the last two days I've had a strange feeling, the same feeling you get when a tampon isn't properly inserted. It is uncomfortable to bend or sit in certain positions. I'm wondering if my coil has possibly come out of place, but I know that normally happens very early on. No bleeding or anything like that.

Does anyone have any experience of their coil moving?

I don't know but currently have something similar going on with mine. I've had my coil for 4 years now but had a much longer period than usual this month and the pain in my abdomen that you describe.

Not sure whether to wait and see if it settles down or ring GP. Things like this are logistically much more difficult to deal with whilst Covid is going on....

I would get it checked.

Mine fell out, I'd suggest getting it looked at.
