Cerazette

I've been out on the cerazette mini pill for contraception due to breastfeeding it's one of the only ones I can have.
I've been on it for one month and already the period cramps were less severe.
I'm a bit grumpier but aware of it so fighting it.
Six days ago I started a period/ breakthrough bleeding. It's not too bad but it's not really slowing down. I'm a bit anxious that it's going to just keep going, does anyone on this have any experience like this?
I know periods can obviously be a week so a bit early to worry but I just don't feel it's going to stop. Is it a common problem with cerazette?

I was on cerazette for 9 years and only had a few periods in that time! It was great. And it stopped my migraines! I’ve just started taking it again (after having my kids) to treat my migraines. The one I’m on is called Cerelle but I’m told they are the same pill just different brands. From what I have read the bleeding does calm down after several months? Hope it does for you.

Thanks bagels, guess I'll just keep going for now then! 😁

@Mummybunny70

They told you to take 2 pills per day?,wow. My periods were fine before (slightlyirregular) . I'm 51 so they took me off of the combined pill and put me on Cerazette . It's been a nightmare, I just bleed sporadically and really heavily. January 12 days, February 14 days, March 23 days this month I've had 4 days so far no bleeding. I'm awaiting a gyna appointment, I can not live like this ! Please continue to post your progress xxxxx
Just thought I give you an update on my experience so far. I've been on Cerazette 2 months now and I've only had 9 days not bleeding. My GP asked me to start taking 2 per day from last Thursday and they're now worse, up now as I've just had to strip the bed.... going to ring GP this morning as its clearly having the opposite effect on me. Feeling drained and fed up of bleeding 😞

urgh this sounds awful @user1498645860 :(
I've just started my second month on it and whilst my first period arrived as expected and was lighter, yesterday I started getting spotting on day 15 of my cycle. And I thought the 24 day cycle previously was bad?!?

Mine started lighter so I honestly thought it was working but after day 4 they got much worse and just won't stop. GP has told me to stop Cerazette this morning, it just doesn't suit some ladies. He's put my on Norethisterone to try and stop this period from hell and has referred me for a hysterectomy. No one wants major surgery but it gets to a point where your life just isn't your own anymore 😪
emmathedilemma · 06/05/2021 13:27

fingers crossed the noresthisterone works for you @user1498645860 ! I don't think anyone would choose major surgery but if it's short term pain for long term gain I think it would be worth it. I've yet to read a comment from anyone who's regretted it.

user1498645860 · 06/05/2021 13:38

Smile thank you, I've heard that too x

emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 22:19

So the spotting that started on day 15 of my cycle is still ongoing bleeding so that's 2 weeks tomorrow with no sign of it stopping. It's not heavy and is manageable compared to what I had previously but I could really do without it! The leaflet in the pack says to seek medical advice if you experience "prolonged bleeding".......what is prolonged?!? I feel like my GP is already sick of my womb woes!!
