I've finally managed to get a referral today and being fast tracked via cancer pathway to a specialist. I've had swollen lymph nodes for a few months now and another has appeared in my neck region the size of a ping pong ball over the last few weeks. Other symptoms are pointing to lymphoma but wont know until tests concluded.

I'm just so bloody scared and stressed by it all.
I've not told anyone in RL except for my immediate family and work. (I had to tell work as wasnt coping with workload due to the stress)

Just wondering if anyone has been through similar and can offer advice/experience/positive stories.

TIA

Sorry it wasn’t news you wanted @Doyoumindifislytherin but like you say at least you know what’s wrong. Be kind to yourself, you are probably running on adrenaline right now and the coming weeks will not be easy but you can do it. Sending strength from someone who’s also had cancer and just had two years clear. 💐

Hi - I have leukaemia, so don’t know so much about the various lymphomas.

But what I do know is that treatments for many kinds of blood cancer have improved enormously in recent years - and are both kinder and more effective.

So please don’t google - there’s too much outdated info still hanging around online, and I don’t think it would help you to see that. If you do want to read up, do do on Blood Cancer UK, CRUK, NHS of Macmillan. Not other sites

Do you know what tests they will gd running? Be prepared for more needles for blood samples than a sodding pin cushion, and a bone marrow biopsy is possible (that’s quite high on the ‘not terribly fun’ procedure list, but they should max you out on local. Scans are fine - just be aware that if they use contrast, it sends a warm feeling coursing round your body that makes you feel as if you’ve wet yourself. Don’t worry / you haven’t!

I hope your haem gives you a feeling of confidence - kind does and that’s the single most important thing

Finally @milesjuppismybitch - I think you’re needed here!

I'm a 25+ years survivor of Hodkins, you will be well again, stay strong and this time next year it will be like a bad dream. 😊

Sorry ita took me a while to update. It's been a bit of a whirlwind but it has been confirmed as classical hodgkins lymphoma.

I will need more tests to determine subtype and my treatment plan over the next few weeks but I'm kinda relieved that I finally have the answer that I always knew I was going to get.

So here I am about to board the bus that is blood/lymphatic cancer and I'm going to throw every ounce of my being at beating this shit and getting well for my 2 girls and my 2 step children.

I refuse to lay down without a fight....

Bring on the treatment, and fuck you cancer... you cant stay here!

How are you doing??? Flowers
