Red mark on breast *picture warning*

As the title says, yesterday I noticed a red mark on my boob which looked a bit like an insect bite. It's still there and not gone down over 24 hours later and to be blunt almost looks like a 3rd nipple. Photos attached are both today pre and post shower.

My boob feels bumpy near it but then my boobs are often lumpy - 2 years ago I was referred on the two week pathway for a lump in the other one and they diagnosed me with lumpy boobs (obviously there's a proper name for this but I've forgotten it!).

Some other potentially relevant info; not been in the countryside for ticks, insects etc. My period is currently 1 day late which Is unusual but pregnancy tests are negative, Google search returned IBC which an acquaintance has which has made me so anxious to the point of feeling sick snd clammy and shaking (health anxiety around cancer). I don't have any canesten cream in to apply in case it's fungal but I've taken off my bra, moisturised as my skins quite dry and sprayed on some colloidal silver as it says anti fungal/bacterial on it.

My doctors surgery is closed today but I could call 111. I haven't yet as I am ridiculously wound up. This is a bit of a mind dump as I cannot sit still, but hoping anyone can provide advice, suggestions or reassurance?

Please help. Thanks

It looks like a boil/pimple to me. I would wait until your GP practice re-opens and give them a bell just in case, but it may have calmed down by then

Justa47 · 26/12/2020 15:25

Agree a pimple

DieCryHate · 26/12/2020 15:33

Thank you both for taking the time to reply. That would frankly be amazing if it is a lovely disgusting boil or spot!!! I'm now willing it to become obviously pustule like to reassure me further. Urgh it's ruining Boxing Day and can't concentrate on my family.

This is it today, I think it's reduced in redness but I can see it looks like broken veins. My doctor's surgery is still closed due to the weekend and will likely be closed tomorrow due to the bank holiday. I will have to wait until Tuesday to get an appointment if it hasn't gone but it's been 2 days now so assuming it won't have.

Could it be harmless spider veins? This is massively playing on my mind at the moment and even my "harmless" googling just brings back very scary stuff Confused

Did you get an appointment OP?

DieCryHate · 29/12/2020 18:38

Hi@AmyFl no I didn't. I tried to this morning by sending a photo along with my request (it's all online) and the doctor phoned me and was very dismissive. He wasn't bothered by it which is great but also didn't say what he thinks it is. Also tried a pharmacist but she was on lunch so she looked at the photos I've taken (staff member took her my phone). Again, not worried but no suggestions on what it is so I'm no wiser.

I started a second post under general Heath which has had a few more replies from mumsnetters which were reassuring. I am going to try the doctors again tomorrow though as I'm still just wanting assurance from a HCP.

It's good that they both looked at the photo and thought it was ok.

I have noticed a mark on one of my breasts that looks just like this. Did you manage to get yours looked at in the end OP?

Jericha · 14/02/2021 18:58

@TeaChocKitKat hiya, I'm OP but think I've name changed since. Since I posted this I've been to the doctors three times BlushI do have pretty bad health anxiety (especially when breast related) though.

Short version is I still have it, sometimes it goes and sometimes it gets a little red again. Three different GPs looked at it and each one said "it's a skin issue not a breast issue". One did a breast exam. I was prescribed daktacort about 4-5 weeks ago as on the second GP visit (the one of the exam) he was sure it's either eczema or fungal. The cream didn't get rid of it.

In my case it's still looking more like broken blood vessels when it flares but in all honesty, my main concern was IBC which I feel after 7 weeks would've gotten more obvious not less so so that has reassured me somewhat. I do find if I've slept on that side it ends up being more obvious the next day (I have big boobs and sleep on my sides due to a bad back)

As to a definite diagnosis I'm afraid I can't offer any solutions but I hope this reassures you a little bit. I couldn't find much similar after "completing" the Internet. Please let me know if you see anyone and find out what it is. The only thing I could find online which looked similar was a spider nevi or something along those lines.

TeaChocKitKat · 14/02/2021 19:07

thanks jericha. Its only been a couple of days for me. I might give it until the end of the week and then call the gp if there's no change.
I hope you get some answers x

Cuddling57 · 14/02/2021 19:37

I've recently had a spot on my breast too.
It was itchy and eventually disappeared. Hope you are both ok x

Lora1988 · 05/09/2021 19:54

Please tell me if any of you figured out what this was !?! I'm freaking out as I have the same thing. Severe health anxiety is getting to me and I'm so scared of doctors. :(

LynnAK · 02/02/2022 13:11

Just looking this up as I have the same. Now on day 3 and very red. If it shows no sign of disappearing by Friday I’ll contact my Gp
