I constantly smell like I’m in my period

I have my period about 3 weeks ago. I am always very clean when I’m in my period as I’m very conscious of ‘the smell’ I’m sure some of you ladies understand what I mean.
I finished my period continued as normal but still noticed that I could still smell ‘the smell’ really strong.

Ever since this has been going on I have noticed I have been getting palpitations, my skin is so dry and itchy that I can scratch till I bleed. My skin on my face is terrible as well. At first I thought that it was just the giro ones from my period but nothing has settled.

I did have an appointment booked to see my gp this morning but it was cancelled to a Covid outbreak, so probably won’t be able to get an appointment till the new year now.

I haven’t been washing with anything different and I’m not under any more stress or anxiety as I was before this.

Has anyone else had this? Thanks

Are you absolutely certain that you have not left a tampon inside yourself?

FTMF30 · 22/12/2020 17:41

How old are you? Palpitations alcould be a sign of toxic shock syndrome.

@onedayiwillmissthis

I use a menstural cup so thankfully I don't have to worry about that

@FTMF30 im 24. I don't use a tampons or anything so thankfully i don't have to worry about TSS.

I had heart palpations at the beginning of the year had a 24hour ECG and it came back all clear. But nothing else was followed up after.

In that case, I have no idea. Perhaps you could go to a local walk-in centre if you can't get an appointment with uour GP.

Sorry to be crass but have you looked with a mirror? No left over stringy bits?

justasking111 · 22/12/2020 19:28

Get some piriton asap. What did they say about palpitations last year. Did they check your thyroid?

Toasty280 · 22/12/2020 19:46

Bacterial vaginosis? I smell kind of like a period smell when I have it. You can buy a over the counter test and some canteens stuff to treat it, but usually I need antibiotics to get rid of it.

sounds like BV or thrush for the smell and itching but palpitations? See your doctor
