Blocked ducts with second baby?

Hi all, I’m not expecting my second child but I wondered if anyone had any experience with blocked ducts with a second. I had recurrent blocked ducts (13) with my DD until they abruptly stopped at 24 weeks. I haven’t had them since and she’s almost 1 now. I was wondering, when you have a second, do your boobs sort of remember what they’re doing and not get blocked ducts or do they completely reset? Do you think it depends on the gap between babies? I was just intrigued what others experiences were. Thank you and I hope you’re all having a nice run in to Christmas!

I got mastitis repeatedly with all 3 babies I'm afraid!

Depends on the cause. If a baby has tongue tie they can't drain the breast effectively so you can get blocked ducts and mastitis. If DC1 had undiagnosed tongue tie that might have been why. If DC2 has tongue tie it's easily resolved. But if there was another cause it might not be so easy to fix. You'd need the advice of a lactation consultant I think. If you want advice in advance of having the baby try the infant feeding section of Mumsnet or one of the breastfeeding support groups on Facebook.

PS DC1 had tongue tie, DC2 didn't but we had some other feeding difficulties in the beginning. Resolved with osteopathy, time and patience!
