Lumpy breast, 1 stop breast clinic, need a hand hold I think

Hi everyone, feeling a bit scared at the moment. Found a lump (in my very lumpy breasts) and saw GP today who said she didn't think I should lose any sleep over it but is referring me because one boob is lumpier than the other. She didn't actually comment on the specific lump I showed her. She said she'd refer me to breast clinic and would take a couple of weeks but I've opted to go private tomorrow because I don't cope well with health anxiety. I don't actually know what I'm hoping for with this post, as I know tests are the only way to know if this is something bad.. but I'm just spiralling at the moment as I have a 15 month old baby. I'm 41. Help??

Flowers for you OP. I had similar recently. One of my boobs has always been slightly bigger and lumpier, but all of a sudden it had a big lumpy bit in it. My GP referred me on the 2 week wait. I went private too, as the 2 week wait actually ended up being 4 weeks due to covid, and we have insurance through DHs work. I have a 4 & 2 year old and I totally understand how easy it is to spiral. My advice is stay away from Google!

The consultant was lovely, said straight away he wasn’t worried about it, I had an ultrasound scan and it was just an area of dense breast tissue! All fine!

Fingers crossed it will be something similar for you OP.

Good advice - Google is NOT your friend today! Thankfully as you’ve been able to get a private appointment tomorrow you wont have to wait too long. Statistically, this is likely to be something completely innocuous. Have a large gin and try to relax xx

Thank you both so much for replying. I've tried hard (and sometimes failed) so stay away from google. I'm glad I'm being seen tomorrow. Just feel exhausted with it to be honest. Daughter is a great distraction but also makes it so much scarier. Ugh. Life, eh? X

Yep, I've always been lumpy. my lumpy breast was a fluid filled cyst. Hope you are reassured soon and all will be well. X

Just wanted to pop by to thank you all again. Had my appointment tonight, mammogram and ultrasound both normal. Just a focal area of glandular tissue and nothing worrying. So relieved, thanks again x
