Random bleeding - should I be concerned?

Hi,

Just hoping someone may have some advice or experienced the same thing as me Smile.

Long story short.... periods returned after breastfeeding a year ago. First 6 months they were very average - 28-30 days, average amount of bleeding, no pain

The last 6 months I've had much shorter cycles of about 22 days, I've had spotting a couple of days beforehand but not enough to use a pad, my period lasts more than 7 days & is much heavier in general - using more pads than normal, a horrible dull heavy ache right between my legs (not like usual cramps), a bit of bleeding between periods too.

Phoned GP (covid doesn't allow face to face these days!) & he was very unconcerned but not sure I fully got it across to him.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions as to what to do. Thanks so much for any help.

I'm 38 & had 2 kids Smile

Hi
You're describing exactly what I had after I had stopped breastfeeding.
Everyone is different took many months to fully get back to my normal cycle. I'd stay a good year

Thanks so much for replying @Naz2009, I'm really grateful Smile. My periods returned over a year ago after breastfeeding so had assumed that is plenty of time to sort themselves out. How long did it take for things to settle down for you?

Does anyone else have any experience they can share? Feels like so many different things have changed but also am generally not a massive panicker so don't want to go into overdrive with it all, it just doesn't quite feel right.
