Please tell me it's not as bad as it sounds.

Tiny pinch, over in seconds. The speculum & position is always the worse bit of being in that situation tbh.

Flaunch · 02/12/2020 21:25

I had one before my ablation and it was bloody painful but it was over in seconds. It made me really crampy for a few hours and I spotted a bit.

Take some painkillers before you go.

I've had two and neither were a ouch as a smear.

Thanks for this thread op I'm having one next week and I've been worrying after abad coil experience. Its good to hear its like a smear

tortoiseshell1985 · 02/12/2020 22:30

I had one but under GA as part of hysteroscopy and polyp removal so couldn't tell you anything about it

Murinae · 02/12/2020 22:34

I had one as part of a hysterescopy as well but had a spinal anaesthetic for it. They offered local or general (which then turned to spinal due to covid). I opted for the general.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll definitely take some painkillers before I go. Hoping it's just a 'pinch' for me!
Quentin I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi, I found the biopsy uncomfortable but not painful. I'd taken painkillers before I went and told myself it would be fine to try and relax as much as possible.
Just waiting for the results now...
