Feels like my right ovary is going to explode

Hi I gave birth 23 months ago and initially went on the injection shortly after but had a bad reaction to that. Then I went on the coil but again didn't get on with it, but persevered for almost a year. I had it removed at the start of the year and no periods since other than a tiny bit of spotting every now and again. I'm still breast feeding although obviously not at much at nearly 2.

Anyway

Since yesterday I've been feeling major cramping and my right side feels like it's going to explode. I've spent all night doubled up in pain abs the pain is going all down my right leg. I've done the hot water bottle, warm bath, pain killers, stretching etc abs nothings helped.

So what I think I'm asking is, is this usual for a first period after so long not having one since giving birth?

I'm not bleeding but had a wipe of bloody discharge yesterday but that's all (sorry tmi)

Thanks

I'd give the doc a ring if it's that bad. It could be ovulation or period but lower right hand side is also appendix!

SandysMam · 30/11/2020 06:21

Since I gave birth I really feel my ovulation pain. It can be horrendous! But it only lasts a day, it happens on alternating sides each month. Are you sure you’re not pregnant though? Could be eptopic? If the pain is agonising or continued, seek medical help ASAP.

legalseagull · 30/11/2020 06:22

Was also thinking appendix. Check your temperature. Any sickness or diarrhoea? I'd go to the GP or A&E tbh. I went o A&E with a fever and diarrhoea thinking I was wasting there time. I was so apologetic for going but turns out I had appendicitis

ScarlettDarling · 30/11/2020 06:25

Op I think you need to ring the doctor. Having said that, I came off the pill two months ago and after not having ovulated for years I'm having pain, bloating, bowel problems, bloody mucus etc which I think is related to ovulation. Maybe It's to do with not having ovulated for a long time?

showmeshowme12 · 30/11/2020 06:32

I feel really sick but no d and active v

We ve been using condoms only as I never get on with contraception (he's going to get the snip after the next one)

I will give the GP a ring when they open.

Just would feel silly if it's just a "mega haven't had a period for nearly three years" pain

Could be an ovarian cyst! Definitely get yourself checked out. Go to a&e if you can! Thanks

Come to think of it I did have some cysts on a scan a number of years ago (but I can't remember which side) maybe they've grown ?

Given the location and nature of the pain you should go to A&E, it could be your appendix.

TheSilentStars · 30/11/2020 14:06

Did you get checked OP?

showmeshowme12 · 30/11/2020 15:03

Yeah I went to the drs, by the time I got there it settled down a bit but still very tender.

Dr said to go home and rest and phone them again tomorrow if it's still as bad, obviously phone for help if gets worse.

Because of past cyst issues and family history of periods so bad all the women have had hysterectomys they think I may be due on. However if I haven't started bleeding by tomorrow and still in pain to go back and see them

I've been dosed up and resting today which has helped but no bleeding yet

He was really good and gave me a good examination

Thanks for asking

I've had ovarian cysts ever since having my ds. I had a small one rupture, it was only 0.9mm but by god did it hurt. Leg shaking type pain. Watch doing any strenuous exercise. Mine burst after sex! Put me right off for a while!
