My periods have stopped

Hi,

I breastfed my son and my periods returned when he was 6 months old.

They've always been very regular and on time from before I got pregnant and as soon as they came back after having my son continued to be very regular and on time, he's now 21 months old so they've been regular again for 14 months.

However, I stopped breastfeeding completely when my son turned 20 months and since then I've missed two periods!! I've taken multiple pregnancy tests and they've all been negative so definitely not pregnant. I've spoken to a GP who just brushed it off and said it happens sometimes and to try and not stress over it as that will make things worse. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced their once very regular periods randomly stopping once they stopped breastfeeding? The people that I personally know who breastfed their babies have all said this didn't happen to them. So I'm starting to wonder if it's not related to that and that there is something else wrong?! How long should I leave it before I start to get worried?!

TIA

Could it be your ovaries aren’t ovulating yet so no period? You could take norethisterone to induce a period and see if it kick starts things. I did this and it worked for me.
