It's a laparoscopy to have a look round, generally day surgery, I went in at 5.30pm, went to theatre at 6.30pm & was back on the ward by 8.00pm & on my way home by 10.00pm. You have 3 small cuts, one in your belly button& one each side, these are either glued or stitched, they let you go home once you are awake & have been for a wee, you will be a bit bloated as they pump gas inside so they can see around so wear something loose or if you are going home by car go home in pjs. Have some Rennie deflatine to help get rid of the gas, Arnica tablets for the bruising & simple painkillers, you will be a bit sore for a few days, the hospital will give you a sick note for at least a week off & your doctor's can give you another one if you need it, expect to be tired & sore for at least a couple of days after.
