Hello..... my periods are usually very regular and have been since they first began around 20 years ago. Iv never had irregular periods. I have children and I’m very fertile, I find no issues getting pregnant, I had a coil fitted coming up 2 years ago, Iv been having a lot of spotting in between my periods since 10 months ago, Iv had swabs taken and all clear my doctor put it down to side effects of my coil. I came on my period on October 11, it started about as spotting for 2 days which is always does, then it got heavy as it always does, it got lighter and lighter but was still there October 21st. I was speaking to my doctor as Iv been so poorly with sever stomach pains and vomiting, I’m waiting for an ultrasound on my liver and pancreas as I gad my gallbladder removed earlier this year and been having issues around the same area, and she asked when my last period was and told her at the time I was still on my period and it was lasting a very long time but getting lighter. She said she would make a note if that. So it some what tapered off on 21st October and October 24th I started spotting again, and again the next day and again the next day! Now today I’m cramping and it’s getting heavier........ what could be happening? Iv googled and came across early menopause and I’m only just turned 30! I did started my periods when I was 10 and have heard of you start your periods early you can have early menopause so im worried it’s that! Should I ring my doctor back?

I would ring them and if you've got pains I'd expect them to check if your coil has maybe moved. Can you still feel the strings ok?

A once in a while 2 periods in a row can be a sign of missed ovulation. Since you have spotting it feels like one long period or a start stop period.
Sometimes it is also a sign that your mirena has moved out of place. It is usually accompanied by cramps that are not usual and heavy period. Check for your strings and if you can't find them or can feel the mirena itself then let your gp know.
And if you are like me - a recent flu jab can make your cycle long and heavy. It is rare but happens without fail in my case every year.
I suffered from mirena spotting too. I also have adenomyosis so that is given. I take vitamin b6 every day so now my problem has reduced.

It’s not merina it’s copper but my strings are still there. I didn’t have a flu jab yet it’s next week. My cramping has eased for now but still spotting last night and this morning it’s more pink pink mucus.

mirena or copper, it could still have dislodged.
