Seemed to have missed a period?

I came of the pill in April after 3 years and my cycle seemed to be settling into a 38-40 day cycle which was very similar to what I had before.
However this month, I’m currently on 44 days and no period, I’ve taken 2 pregnancy tests and both negative however this month I have had a lot of stressful events happen during my cycle, could this be a reason why?
I tried to get an appointment with the GP but they said it wasn’t urgent and wouldn’t see me until the next routine appointment in November.
Can anyone reassure me please?

Missing a period is pretty common and not cause for concern. If you miss it for several months in a row and are not pregnant, that would be cause for concern and to have checked out. I did lose my periods for an entire year but that was determined to be due to athletics/low body fat. So even when it’s a cause for concern, that doesn’t even always mean something is wrong with you/or you are ill.
