Postnatal umbilical hernia - can I get pregnant again?

Hi! I had my son 6 months ago and I developed an umbilical hernia soon after I'd given birth. My doctor is aware I have an umbilical hernia and I've been referred to see a surgeon but that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon due to Covid. My doctor can't answer any of my questions and I basically want to know if I'm safe to get pregnant again despite having the hernia.
I've tried looking online and have seen a few articles where women have been told they can't have their hernia repaired if they're planning on having more babies and some where they're told they should have the hernia repaired first but that the mesh can cause issues if you need a C-section.
Basically I have no idea, and neither does my doctor, if I'm safe to get pregnant again and I don't want to just put my life on hold while I wait to speak to a surgeon which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon, does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

I have an umbilical hernia that was discovered when I had my appendix out when my son was 4 months old (6 years ago now) . I've never been told it would cause me issues, I never bothered to get it fixed because it's never bothered me! I'm 23 weeks pregnant now and sometimes it sticks out when baby is in certain positions or when I cough or laugh...! But it still doesn't hurt or anything.

@SpunBodgeSquarepants that's really reassuring, thank you! Mine doesn't hurt but it can be uncomfortable sometimes depending on how I'm lay down or stood. My doctor worried me a bit by not being able to give me an answer.
