Mammogram recall due to unclear results

I have had a mammogram in the past due to what turned out to be a benign cyst which needed drained.

Went for my first routine age related mammogram two weeks ago and have been called back in on Monday for further tests, mammograms, ultrasounds etc.

Stats are in my favour - five in 100 get recalled, and of them four out of five will be non cancerous.

However, I can feel a smallish lump where my cyst was before and I have slight dimpling on my lower areola which I pointed out at the routine test. She said that alone might cause a recall but my letter says the mammogram was unclear.

I could do with some honest replies, especially if they are of the “all clear” variety, but any feedback is good.

Thanks

I was recalled. I was, quite frankly, shitting myself. They said it happens quite often and there can be shading so they like to take a second look as a precaution.

Fingers crossed it comes back ok for you Flowers

My mum got recalled on her first one last year and was shitting it but it just genuinely was an unclear result so they had to re do it and it was all completely fine.
Try not to worry, easier said than done I know.
Good luck

Thank you both.

Statistically I know it is much more like to be anything but cancer - fat lumps, benign cysts or calcification etc - but you can’t help but worry, eh?

And on the eve of my appointment I’ve realised that thanks to Covid I go in on my own. Good news or bad, I will get it on my own.

And thankfully I got the all clear

Hi CormoranStrikesANoteofDoom
So pleased you got the all clear.
Can you tell me how quickly you got your recall letter after your mammogram please. I had my mammogram on Monday this week, ans was wondering if anything was wrong , would they of sent results by now if something was wrong. By anxiety is through the roof at the moment 😩
