Coming off depo

Wonder if anyone has experience of coming off depo?
I'm having my second period, 2 months waiting for it and now it won't end. I'm day 17 bleeding.
Spoke to GP who said come back in 2 months.
For info, I did have abnormal cells after a smear with treatment and a colposcopy last April which showed all clear successful treatment. GP didn't think this was contributing to my bleed now.
Suppose just looking for light at the end of the tunnel to this bleeding stopping.

Hey - I am afraid I can't answer but am interested in the subject as I have been advised to come off the depo because of my age...I am annoyed as it suited me as I haven't been having periods at all - for me they stopped within the first few months. But that was a long time ago...I don't know what to use instead now - my main goal is to continue to be period free if possible.

My periods were very erratic during the 11 months or so after my last injection (last injection was last July)

I didn’t have any until December, then there was no real regularity to them until March - that period was 21 days long. I called my GP around the 14 day point who shrugged it off as “stress” Hmm. I was told that it can take up to 18 months for things to settle down again when coming off it. April and May were somewhat more regular in terms of length (7-9 days ish) if that helps?

I wouldn’t be waiting another two months though, if the bleeding hadn’t stopped at the 21 day point I would have been back on the phone to my GP.
