Tiny rash around nipple

I’ve read about nipple thrush/yeast infection. Unsure if this can happen when your not breastfeeding? Haven’t breastfed for nearly 2yrs. 2 days ago I noticed tiny little spots/rash around the nipple on the areola. I’ve been working myself up to call the doctor in case it’s something more serious. It’s on both breast & there’s no pain or anything like that. On & off odd tingling feeling. Any advice xx

It can - rarely - be a sign of breast cancer so please do contact your gp

Thank you for your reply mumsnut. I plucked the courage and called the doctor & sent her pictures she said to just leave it and it will go on it’s own. As there’s no swelling, pain, itching doesn’t seem concerning. So just hoping that is the case x

Google images of Paget’s Disease of the nipple if you’re still worried.

Hundred to one it is nothing , but you lose nothing by being vigilant

I had a similar issue a few months ago, i wasn't sure if it was a rash of something else. Dr said to try Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm along side hydrocortisone cream.

I used the aquaphor (quite a generous amount) 3x a day for about a week and it went so didn't need to use hydrocortisone cream. Dr said to use the tiniest amout of hydrocortisone cream and use it twice a day before applying aquaphor.
