I've had a recurring Bartholin cyst since about January, it's never gone completely away but just shrunk after doing hot compresses with a flannel and taking antibiotics. Every time it's come back it's been bigger and more painful.

This time I'm on my period though and I think I've gotten some kind of infection. There's no visible blood unless I use a tampon and then the tampon obviously irritates the cyst. When I take it out the tampon is soaking and almost black. (Sorry if TMI, I'm a newbie) I've never had cramps this bad that have woken me up like someone gripping my waist.

I saw my GP this morning after a phone call yesterday when she gave me antibiotics again. This morning she didn't examine me except to weigh me, make me pee to check for diabetes (!) and said I was too overweight for any surgery.

I haven't had an exam for about four months and despite each time me saying it felt worse it feels like I'm being brushed off. It's about the size of a grape and it hurts! In the shower just now I found what felt like a hard spot next to it and almost cried. I know that the NHS is really overwhelmed at the minute but surely a GP could take a 10 minute appointment to visually examine a cyst in a serious area rather than just being dismissive?

I'm sorry if there's been too much information but I'm really upset (especially after this morning), feel a bit swept to the side. One GP told me she wouldn't give me antibiotics because I'd build a resistance. I don't know what to do and feel really frustrated
