I am three weeks late on my period, negative tests and loads of pregnancy symptoms.

Hi,
I am currently three weeks late and have had sore boobs, cramps, huge appetite, heartburn, mood swings and tired ALL THE TIME. I have taken multiple tests in the last week which have all said negative. However, two days ago I took another test in which I can see a very faint line and me being paranoid I took another one that night which again had another faint line! I took a clear blue digital test yesterday which stated 'not pregnant' so as you can probably tell I am very confused and don't know how to think or feel at the moment. I have spoken to my doctor and she is going to refer me to the hospital for a scan which can take weeks!. I have always had regular periods since a young age and normally last 5-7 days.

maybe its too early to show on the tests, or maybe you've skipped a period. some women do skip periods sometimes for various reasons. hope it goes okay.

Whenever I have a missed period I bet pregnancy symptoms. It's usually caused by hormonal imbalance which is the reason for missed period. I have always been regular but for last 3-4 years I have missed period once a while.
You could be pregnant even if it is less likely so should go ahead with a scan. You might get a period before your scan if your body balances itself.

I can see this would be very confusing - during one pregnancy I did multiple tests, all were negative and I even had a period every month even though I was definitely pregnant! Nothing showed on urine tests, only a blood test showed positive and at that point I was feeling kicks and had leaky boobs, which was the only way I was able to convince the doctor to test me. However on some other occasions I've missed periods and had all the symptoms but wasn't pregnant. The human body can definitely play tricks on us.

I think it's a good thing you've seen a doctor about this but unfortunately all you can do is wait for the scan - but I would also be testing regularly until then!

@SharpLily how far in the pregnancy were you when you found out?

About five months. Weird because in subsequent pregnancies none of those things happened.

wow that must have been a shock when you found out. but also a nice surprise. I always wondered how this can happen as a friend told me that she is pregnant 3/4 months and didn't know untill now

Still no sign of period and meant to be starting my next period on the 18th. I am going to wait until then and see what happens.
Still waiting for hospital scan date !

Have you recently come off the pill or any other birth control? If so it could be your periods settling down?

I have been on the contraceptive pill for nearly two years now, and have been taking everyday without fail for these years.
I am already a week late on my second cycle now.

Hi,
My second period was due a week ago and still nothing!
I have chased my hospital appointment as not received letter yet.
I believe I am now 38 days late.
Last period was on the 18th August.
