Fucking had enough of THRUSH

It’s really getting to me now!!!

For the last few years I get thrush every fucking month around my period. I’ve been tested in the past which confirmed I had a large growth of Candida (thrush) I was given the oral tablets to take for a few months but they would make my lips (face, lol) swell, so was told to stop.

So when I do get it I now use the cream. About 7 months ago went on the progesterone only pill and it wasn’t near as bed. I actually forgot it was a problem.

I came off the pill due to not feeling myself and just like that it came back with a vengeance!! Also I’m on antibiotics just now for my teeth and guess fucking what?? A wee visit from Aunt Thrush!

I’m so ducking over having an itchy fanny fml!

Has anybody else had similar issues. I’m calling the doctors tomorrow to ask for blood to be taken. 😫😳🤪🙈

I had a problem with thrush after my coil was fitted, eventually the GP gave me a regime of tablets that is not used very often as I believe if you overdose it can cause psychosis so I had very strict instructions it might be the same you took previously but worth a chat with your GP.

After I finished the regime I had so many that I was allowed to take as soon as I got symptoms ensuring again I didn't overdose.

My mum reckons Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause recurring thrush. I feel your pain, I suffered from it for years.

Still got two days on the antibiotics so I’ll have this I think until I at least stop taking them.

I’ll need to go back to my gp and see if there’s something else I can take! 🙈 xx

I take calendula candida tablets at the slightest hint of an itch and its clears up within 24 hrs

Google vaginal atrophy. It may be that you’re dry / low on oestrogen which can make you more prone to thrush. Happens often even if you’re not near menopause and more often if you are. GP can prescribe Ovestin internal oestrogen cream which can really help.

Been here, done that. Every month using tampons would kick off another bout of thrush. Then, I tried the old yogurt trick. The reason you're getting thrush is because your body is out of balance. Eating foods with good bacteria in them will sort this.

A pot of live yogurt every day for a week or so and you won't get it - fingers crossed. I believe this will also work with other similar live foods such as kombucha, kimchi etc but couldnt confirm.

I now spot when the balance is out because it starts with itchy feet, between your toes, like athletes foot, another early warning sign that you're out of balance.

I might as well get this etched on my gravestone as I seem to talk about it all the time, but Apple cider vinegar is the only thing that works for me. I apply it neat, it stings like hell for about a minute but then the relief is immense. Every time I want to scratch I apply it (with a cotton ball) but in saying that T MI ALERT mine starts in the upper vulva area so I can get rid of it before it moves vaginally. In your case I would make a douche of diluted ACV and water and as soon as you feel the initial itch give yourself a spray. I also read about changing pants every time you go to the toilet as the candida can live on fabric for a while.

I ended up going to speak to my pharmacist today and she gave me the oral capsule to take but said I need to go back if I get it next month and get further testing with my gp.

I never use to get this when I was younger. It’s weird! I’m also going to try eat lots of yoghurt and see if that helps.

Tonight however I’m having wine!! I bloody need it and I know that the sugars won’t help the thrush but I’ve had it this week! Men are lucky bastards!!

Well dabbed a bit cider vinegar but it made it itch even more ahhhhhhh. Loaded it with Canesten and can’t wait for the tablet to kick in!!!! 🙈

Have you looked into diet changes? I knew a girl who suffered terribly and she had enough so ended up going to a private clinic who advised her to stop carbs and sugar (essentially Keto) and she said it was a game changer.

I have. I looked at something similar. I love wine and my weekends so it will be bloody hard but might not have a choice to give it a go! X
